May 2014 Scholarship - Samantha Hittle

 

Our scholarship recipient was Samantha Hittle, a senior at Apex High School.  Samantha plans to attend UNC Wilmington in the fall to attend a nursing degree.  Samantha is the first person in her family to attend college!  

 

Samantha currently volunteers her time tutoring children whose families cannot afford a private tutor.  Samantha received an award for volunteering the most hours for this cause.  

 

Samantha's essay for the scholarship was wonderful.  She read it to us at the Scholarship dinner held at Lugano's, where she and her mother, Maria Rosaria Hittle, joined us for a fun evening full of surprises.
